The Redding-Easton softball program was formed in 2010 when the youth softball programs in Easton and Redding merged under an official Little League charter administered through the Boys & Girls Club of Redding-Easton. The result is a growing program with twice the number of girls participating in a league with more teams, more coaches, more fields, more volunteers, and more opportunity for families to learn and enjoy the game of softball.
Our affiliation with Little League gives us the blueprint for developing a top-notch community program backed by the largest youth sports organization in the world, and the Boys & Girls Club provides the infrastructure and support needed to facilitate our growth.
Those organizations also provide a foundation for our overall philosophy and the principles guiding BGCRE Softball:
Safety and Fun
Our primary goal is to provide Redding and Easton families with a safe environment and a fun experience that gets our girls excited about the game and gets their parents committed to encouraging them.
Teaching and Learning We hope to create "teachable moments" that inspire our girls to become better athletes, teammates and leaders, while learning the Little League virtues of character, courage and loyalty.
Winning
By working to prepare our girls to be the best softball players they can be -- in a way that honors the game -- we aspire to help them become winners on the field and, most importantly, in life.
