Thank you to everyone for participating in the 2012 PHR program. Everyone had a great time and for those lucky to advance to the sectional, click here for more information. The sectional will take place on June 2nd in Stamford. Anyone who won a category can advance to sectionals. If you have any questions at all please let us know!

Free In-Season Skills Clinics
We will begin a series of 5 weekly workout sessions led by instructors from the Frozen Ropes and Clubhouse training centers. Here’s the schedule for each:
 
Minors Division
Mondays / 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm / Pond Field
Dates: 4/23, 4/30, 5/7, 5/14, 5/21
 
Majors & Juniors Divisions
Mondays / 6:40 pm to 7:40 pm / Pond Field
Dates: 4/23, 4/30, 5/7, 5/14, 5/21
 
T-Ball and Rookies
Wednesdays / 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm / REBGC Pavilion Field
Dates: 4/25, 5/2, 5/9, 5/16, 5/23
 
Again, all players in each of these divisions is welcome to attend, and all coaches encourage you to do so.

Warmer weather is here, and hopefully you're all getting outside to play softball!
 
But, when you aren’t actually playing ball, one of the best ways to learn and improve in any sport is to watch that sport being played at a high level. Just a few years ago, women’s sports like softball were rarely on television. Not any more.

Take the time to watch at least one of these games. Watch the players and listen to the commentators. Notice how everyone plays as a team, supporting each other no matter what, while playing to win with sportsmanship. Most of all, you’ll see how much fun everyone is having!
 
As they say, “Watch and learn.” It’ll make you a better ball player and enjoy the great game of Softball that much more.

The Redding-Easton 9-10 All-Star Rockets clinched a spot in the District 1 Championship game tonight with an incredible 7-6 extra-inning victory over Danbury. It was the fourth straight win for the Rockets, who were undefeated in pool play.

The 9-10 District 1 Championship will be played on Sunday 7/10 at 2:00 pm at Middlebrook Field in Wilton. The Redding-Easton Rockets will play Darien for the title.

Please come out and cheer for your fellow Softballers on Sunday! The Rockets will appreciate your support. Directions to the field are below.

The Redding-Easton Softball Mini-Rockets were runners-up at the 8U Trumbull All-Star Tournament, which ended Thursday, June 30.

With wins over Monroe and Wilton, along with a tie vs. Trumbull, the Mini-Rockets earned a spot in the Tournament Championship Game, eventually losing to Westport in the final.

Led by head coach Dave McCann, along with assistant coaches Ray and Mary Ellen Boudiette, and Dave's father Dave, the Mini-Rockets are: Lily Anderson, Catie Boudiette, Emma Fairclough, Grace Gilmore, Sofia Goncalves, Claire McCann, Katie McElwee, Abby Ota, Laura Stauffer, and Megan Zappulla.

Mini-Rockets honored as Tournament Game MVP's were Abby Ota, Catie Boudiette, Megan Zappulla, Claire McCann, and Emma Fairclough.

The future of Redding-Easton Softball is looking bright.
